For DJs who love to spin vinyl, the Technics 1200 turntable is conisidered the industry standard. The 1200 holds this title even though Panasonic discontinued the unit a few years ago. Guys and gals who learned how to mix and scratch on these decks know what this machine can do. They also know these tables can withstand a lot of abuse. I've seen some that are completely tarnished with blemishes all over, but still perform like they would have when they were brand new!
Here's a pic of one of my 1200s. It's about 16 years old and is still putting in work today. I continue to use Technics turntables when I mix for Mega 103.5 HD2 every Friday. Even though I have moved on to using other platforms to mix at gigs, I feel these turntables will still be ticking long after the latest and greatest units of today have been retired.
